Birth Doula
My name is Kelsey, and my goal as your birth doula is to give you the birth of your dreams.
A birth doula assists you in finding evidence based information to help you better make your decisions in the pregnancy, labor and delivery, and early postnatal process.
After enduring a traumatic birth experience a decade ago, I have a strong desire to help mothers achieve a beautiful birth that they can look back on with awe and wonder.
Why a doula?
According to recent studies, having a doula (a trained labor companion, who is outside of your own social network, and who is not a staff member of the hospital or birthing location) gave the mothers the following benefits
-25% decrease in the risk of Cesarean
-8% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
-10% decrease in use of pain relief medications
-shorter labors by an average of 41 minutes
-38% decrease in the risk of a low five minute Apgar score
-31% increase in satisfaction with the birth experience
